Welding

This course provides specialized classroom and laboratory experience leading to entry level welder status. Content standards reflect national standards for entry level welders established by the American Welding Society. Content standards were designed to develop the total student in all areas of metal welding, brazing, cutting operations, blueprint reading, electrical principles, basic academic skills, communication, reading, writing, and math.

Particular emphasis is given to the use of decision-making and problem-solving techniques in applying science, mathematics, communication, and social studies concepts to solve technological problems.

Instruction emphasizes proper care, use, and maintenance of tools and equipment. The students will be made aware of automation that can be adapted to each cutting and welding process. This program complies with local, state, and federal safety and environment regulations.
