Building Construction
The building construction program will afford students the opportunity to earn three credits over three years in the building construction pathway. During the same three year period, students will also take courses in introductory electricity, masonry, and plumbing in order to facilitate a well-rounded student capable of pursuing further training and/or careers in a magnitude of fields.
The Calhoun County Career Academy has joined the Calhoun County Home Builders Association in order to form relationships that will benefit our students and the program.
The building construction program will implement NCCER curriculum and standards. NCCER develops standardized construction and maintenance curricula and assessments with portable credentials. Instructors become certified to teach the curriculum. Students who earn NCCER certification are more likely to be employed and are likely to earn more money than their counterparts without the certification.
