Ms. Donna Pritchett
Hi, my name is Donna Pritchett, and I am the Calhoun County Career Academy Center, Counselor. I grew up in Jacksonville, Alabama and I am a graduate of Alexandria High School. I hold B.S. in Ed. degrees in Family and Consumer Science Education and Elementary Education. I also have an M.S. in Ed. in School Counseling and School Administration. All of my formal education has been acquired at Jacksonville State University. I have served the students as Guidance Counselor at the Career Academy since 1999. Before then, I was the Family & Consumer Science teacher at Alexandria High School for ten years. I serve as the advisor for the Ambassador Program and the National Career Technical Honor Society on the Career Academy campus.
As the CCCA counselor, I am a member of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Development Region 2, along with serving on the “Worlds of Work” Planning Committee as an education consultant in connecting secondary, post-secondary education and business & industry together to help open up career opportunities for our students.
My primary function is to provide a comprehensive counseling and guidance program for junior high and high school students in selecting long-term goals and short-term objectives in facilitating the total development of students through knowledge of self and others, an achievable educational plan, and a career objective that will be marketable in the twenty-first century.
To achieve this goal, the counseling and guidance program must be organized to enlist the understanding, interest, ability, and energy of every member of the school faculty and community.
I have an open-door policy and am here to assist you in your transition from high school to the world of work.
